Training

Outdoor regular season training begins in April and continues through the summer each week at the So Joel Park in Early (map below). We train on Wednesday evenings from 6:30PM. During the winter months, we will train less regularly indoors. The sessions are coached by the more experienced members of the team – there is always a range of abilities present, from complete newbies to internationals!

Training usually consists of some basic warm up exercises and stretching, followed by fielding drills (perhaps focussed on infield or outfield plays) and/or batting practice. We usually finish off with a friendly game to put it all into practice and then head to the local pub for a few refreshing drinks!

If you’d like to join in our training sessions and get a feel for the sport and the club, please feel free to drop by! If possible, let us know you’re planning to come so we can welcome you appropriately. You can bring your own kit if you have it, but don’t worry if not – all equipment will be provided. Please just turn up in appropriate clothes and shoes (e.g. jogging bottoms and trainers).

About the Training Ground

Sol Joel Park is located in lower Early, just a short walk from the Early train Station. There are also several buses that drop off within a short walk from the ground.

If arriving by car, there is a car park entrance off of Church Rd, just behind the Early St Peter’s Church.
